Paved road (route 134) that crosses the river with a large cement bridge. Residential area with houses on each side of the river. The properties have lawn cut short up to river's edge. Rip-rap rocks around the bridge. Private walking bridge and breakwater (made of wood and rocks) along the property downstream.

Action Required:

Landowner education on the importance of maintaining an adequate buffer zone on their property. Restore the buffer zone by letting nature take its course. The first step consists of simply not cutting the strip beside the water. Before long, natural vegetation will reclaim its rights and benefit your property. Shortly after that, shrubs and trees will take root.
