Eroded bank

ATV crossing
Peters 24
Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Issue:
Several ATV trails that cross the river and follow the bank. Lawn cut up to the river bank. Excessive erosion on right bank. Some rip-rap rocks at certain places. Very big property with lots of trails and a private wooden bridge (in good condition).
Action Required:
The approach to a ford can be stabilized using clean crushed rock on top of a geotextile. Landowner education on the importance of maintaining an adequate buffer zone on his property. The stream banks should be stabilized in order to slow down erosion and reduce sedimentation in the river.
