Issue:
The brook flows in a big field and crosses Alcida road with 2 culverts (1.05 m). A private road follows the brook upstream up to the headwater of the river. Property with short cut grass up to the riverbank on the left bank. Farm tractor is brush cutting very close to the stream along the banks. Man-made pond at the end of the property where the stream is blocked and diverted into the pond.
Action Required:
Landowner education on the importance of maintaining an adequate buffer zone on his property and the effects of a man-made pond on water quality. Restore the buffer zone by planting shrubs or by letting nature take its course by leaving a strip of untouched vegetation along the stream.

Update:
The artificial pond is still present. The vegetation has resumes lives on the banks and the retention of water has improved. A follow-up is recommended.
