Stabilizing rocks

Millstream 37

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Issue:

Two cottages are close to the river. A deep pool is located in front of the cottages. There is a lot of sand at the bottom of the pool. The right bank is stabilized with rocks. There is a small man-made rock dam across the river.

Action Required:

It is relatively simple to restore a buffer zone because all you need to do is let nature take its course. The first step consists of simply not cutting the strip beside the water. Before long, natural vegetation will reclaim its rights and benefit your property. Shortly after that, shrubs and trees will take root.
