Illegal dumping
Armstrong Brook 37425-Cave
Friday, August 10, 2012

Issue:
The tunnel is located under a railroad. It's approximately 15 meters length and 4 meters width. The soil is red, which may indicate the top soil is mostly composed of red sandstone or there's a high concentration of iron within the soil. Located just down stream of the tunnel there is a pool. That is where our thermograph is collecting data for our project. Lots of rocks have been built up near the outlet of the pool and may be affected by an inactive beaver dam.
Action Required:
Visitors must be educated on the importance of maintaining a healthy buffer zone. An ‘‘Erosion protection’’ and/or ‘‘No dumping’’ sign should be erected near the site.
